Finance Manager Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management, highlighting key trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget process, working closely with department heads to create realistic and achievable budgets. Prepare regular forecasts to project future financial performance and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This includes profitability analysis, cost analysis, investment analysis, and risk assessment. Provide recommendations based on your findings to improve financial performance and efficiency.
- Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Regularly review and update internal control policies and procedures.
- Cash Management: Oversee cash flow management, ensuring adequate liquidity to meet operational needs. Manage banking relationships and optimize cash investment strategies.
- Audit Management: Manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional development.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning initiatives, providing financial insights and recommendations to support long-term growth and profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
